1. Sale Format:
• Class 1: Limited to the first 80 entries of working dogs over 1 year old.
• Class 2: For young dogs, 12 months and under.
Note: Sheep for all dogs/bitches in Class 2 will be placed in a pen, and they will showcase their capabilities in this manner only.
2. Entry Fees:
• The entry fee for both Class 1 and Class 2 is £24 (inclusive of VAT). £15 is refundable upon sale of the dog.
3. Entry Requirements:
• No entry will be accepted unless accompanied by the necessary fee.
4. Withdrawals:
• Any entries not present for the sale must be reported to the auctioneers prior to sale day.
5. Catalogue:
• The catalogue will include the first 80 entries. Priority is given to dogs/bitches in Class 1.
• No substitute entries will be allowed to run.
6. Sale Order:
• The sale will follow the catalogue order, starting promptly at 10:00 AM.
• The first 3 dogs, if not sold, will have a second chance after entry No. 6. Dogs not present as per the catalogue will be refused.
7. Class 1 Display:
• Each dog/bitch in Class 1 will have 4 minutes to showcase their ability to fetch and pen sheep, after which they will be immediately offered for sale.
8. Class 2 Display:
• Each dog/bitch in Class 2 will have 2 minutes to demonstrate their capabilities.
9. Currency:
• The sale will be in guineas, with vendors being paid in pounds.
10. Dog Condition:
• All dogs must be in sound working condition, have good eyesight, and be safe with children.
11. Liability for Injuries:
• If a dog injures a sheep, the dog’s owner will be held responsible for the damages. The sheep will be inspected by the committee.
12. Language Handling:
• Sellers will specify whether the dog has been handled in Welsh or English.
13. Dog Performance:
• All dogs will be shown working on the day of the sale only. No warranty is provided regarding future performance, and all sales are final.
14. Payment Terms:
• Every lot must be paid for before removal from the sale field.
15. Handing Over of Dogs:
• Vendors must not hand over their dogs to purchasers without prior authorization from the organizers. Failure to comply may result in non-payment.
Note: The dog remains the property of the seller until full payment is made.
16. Private Sales:
• Dogs sold privately after the auction must be booked through the office.
Failure to do so will result in a ban from future sales.
17. Vendor Entries:
• The auctioneers reserve the right to limit the number of entries per vendor.
18. Committee Decisions:
• In the event of any unforeseen circumstances, the committee’s decision will be final.
19. Pedigree Certificates:
• All vendors with pedigree dogs/bitches must provide registration certificates to the auctioneers at the time of sale.
20. Stewards’ Authority:
• Stewards have the authority to stop any dog/bitch that is out of control or gripping sheep for humane reasons.
21. Health Requirements:
• All dogs and pups entered must be fit, healthy, and comply with necessary vaccinations.
